Again

Splashed with colors of nature;

Strokes of the mighty ball of fire painted;

The awning cloth blanketed the sky

With the beautiful rays of the Sun.

The slivery halo lingered behind a tad;

Ingredients of loneliness and melancholy sprinkling

Her soul; the Moon began to vanish, sad

To leave her beloved alone.

The Sun bid her farewell

With a bright smile,

Leaving butterflies to tease the Moon;

Leaving memories of him

To caress and satisfy her until

They meet again.

The breathtaking canvas spread across

The huge sky; the positive vibes

The Sun exuded for everyone

Proved futile for her as she stared back

At the Sun with eyes colder than ice

And a soul darker than the night.

The mirror held up the truth;

Her truth, ugly and shameful but hers.

A secret to society, to her friends and family;

But a secret for hers to keep.

With concealer, she painted the sleepless nights

Underneath her eyes. Beguiling matte lipstick covering

Her bruised and chapped lips.

Slipping into a revealing dress, she was

Ready for the night.

Smile, as fake as her eyelashes, invited men

Into rooms that kept her secret hidden.

With an unwavering courage, she bowed down to the men

And their commands. On her knees, she had her

Insecurities at bay; her self-respect stayed intact for her

Head never once bowed down before

The men; nor did her eyes.

“Look away”, she stared at their eyes. “Look down!”

But she never did, only turning them on more.

Profanities would circle them, but she stood her ground.

Her dignity was never sacrificed, even if her purity was.

Role playing always a blur, the game

Forever her first time.

Spread out on the bed, she swallowed

Her disgust, her fear.

Eyes following his every move, she

knows exactly what they want, what they crave.

He placed himself between her legs; only

Time she would close her eyes.

For a split second, she was a girl again.

No financial requirement, no adulthood.

Just a girl with dreams in her mind.

Taking a deep breath, her eyes stared into his,

With a plastic grin, she took him in.

Into her, swallowing him

Whole.
